Hailing from New Zealand, our special guest presenter Suveran Dewsnap (Suvi) will be showcasing the knowledge he has accumulated over 30 years of travelling and planting exotic trees.
Suvi's wealth of knowledge will be showcased using the working example of the masterpiece food forest he planted out around 5 years ago at High Valley Dawn.
Because Suvi's knowledge goes so deep, we have decided to split these courses up into easy-to-digest 2 day chunks that will focus on the specific hands-on work that is being done and the changes in management as the seasons change.
In this special Summer installation, we will be teaching you:
An introduction to food forestry, visioning your dreams, food forest history/planning/implementation, the design and benefits of swales and the 7 layers of a food forest with farm Owner Ross O'Reilly
How to prune fruit trees for production and ease of picking with Suvi
How to manage a food forest as it grows in relation to spacings Suvi
How to manage support species to understand the balance between sun and shade (i.e. canopy regulation)
Effective management of bananas
- Full 2 day deep dive course including all meals, classes and camping (Tiny Homes and Glamping Tents available at an extra cost - click here for more details) - $195
- Course limited to 15 students to make sure everyone gets a personalised expereince and gets their specific questions answered
